Pasadena rapper KStone drops "LIFES A GAMBLE" music video feat. Major James

Pasadena rapper KStone has been working on his upcoming EP all Winter long. And he was finally able to bless us with a treat: the official music video for "LIFES A GAMBLE" featuring Altadena's very own...Major James.

"LIFES A GAMBLE" is the first single off of KStone's upcoming EP "Almost Famous" to have an official music video. If connecting with Major
James on the hook wasn't enough, Pasadena rapper Kali Slim also made a cameo in the video. This video is a good example of Pasadena / Altadena artists working together to make it happen.

When it comes to any story in entertainment, the one that always stands out is the one told about the underdog. The story about the person that works hard, produces content consistently, studies the craft and still, for some reason or another, stays relatively under the radar. I first saw Quest Michaels take the stage a few months back at an open mic I was performing in at Lady Luck’s in Parkland. Chris Cornell: A Voice Immortalized (by Jhantu Randall)

It was a cloudy, overcast day which held brief periods of rain throughout. Packed together in front of the MoPop museum (formally known as the Experience Music Project) the crowds gathered as 5th street was shut down. A purple cover draped over the statue of Audioslave and Soundgarden frontman, Seattle’s own Chris Cornell who tragically hung himself last year after a show at the Fox Theater in Detroit, Michigan.

While I wasn’t personally a huge fan of the genre, I’d have to be dumb, deaf and naive to stand here and say that it wasn’t an accompanying soundtrack to my childhood in the Seattle area growing up. Sure, bands like Nirvana and Pearl Jam always seem to be brought up as the pinnacle of Seattle’s grunge scene in the 90’s, but during this time bands like Alice in Chains, and Soundgarden definitely made their mark on an emerging scene which spit in the face of consumerism and mocked the increasing safety and corporatization of music. The 19 song CD also features songs by some current Sunset Recording artists like Richtaste, Han Drabur, Respect, Joe Atman with the Riohc Choir, Federal Moguls (DJ Q Ball’s (Bloodhound Gang) side project) and Mister Sir while it licensed in tracks by established and legendary acts that are notably against animal cruelty by artists such as Vegan Boss, Gina Thompson and Bob Marley. The album is rounded off by some remixes by the likes of Boy George, Amos, Gavin Friday and DJ X vs. Sonic Solution which contributes a remix of the classic Supertramp hit song ‘The Logical Song [DJ Self Remix]’.
